Missions and Milestones E3KlvzE

Missions are an important part of Rebirth RPG.
By completing missions, players are able to rank up, earn ryo, craft items, gain stat points and gain slots.

Overview

  • At least one player of a mission group must meet all Character Requirements to start the mission.
  • Up to 4 characters may join up to complete a mission as a mission group.
  • The first post of a mission thread must contain a link to the approved mission and the mission details.
  • Mission threads must be located in the Mission Location and all members must be in the same location.
  • All missions have a Task that the group members must complete to receive mission rewards.
  • The Word Count Requirement (WC) must be met to complete a mission. This WC may be split evenly between the mission group members.
  • Completing the mission nets all members of the mission group every Reward.
  • Challenges are made to increase the difficulty of the mission and net the group a Bonus.
  • All missions are Repeatable. However, the same mission cannot be used more than once toward rank-up progression in the same rank.
  • Some missions may be Character Exclusive and these missions are most commonly used for character development purposes.
  • Once completed, no player can enter that mission thread for any reason. Should players wish to continue RP, they must do so in a new topic.
  • Players can use their WC to claim Skills, Techniques and more if they meet the requirements.

Mission Board

All approved missions are located in the Mission Directory governed by the World Government.
Players may create new missions by posting it under Mission Request with the Mission Template provided and await approval. All missions will be recorded using the Mission Page under your Character Page.

Mission Ranks and Rewards

Missions are divided into ranks based on their difficulty. The Word Count Requirement and their Reward is dependent on the rank of the mission being completed. All missions reward a certain amount of AP, Ryo and Reputation Points (RP) for their completion. Each member of a mission group earns the same rewards and players do not earn more rewards for exceeding the WC requirement. The breakdown is as follows:

D Rank:
WC Requirement: 500
Reward: +1 Level / 200 Gold /

C Rank:
WC Requirement: 1,000
Reward: +2 Level / 400 Gold /

B Rank:
WC Requirement: 2,000
Reward: +3 Level / 600 Gold /

A Rank:
WC Requirement: 3,000
Reward: +4 Level / 800 Gold /

S Rank:
WC Requirement: 4,000
Reward: +5 Level / 1,000 Gold /

Mission Types

  • Stealth: A Stealth mission is a mission where the goal is to avoid being detected by the enemy whilst carrying out a task.
  • Rescue: These missions require you to extract a person or object without any harm brought upon the target.
  • Escort: Escort missions will require you to escort a person or package to a destination while protecting it from harm.
  • Patrol: Patrol missions will require you to survey an area and ensure that it's secure.
  • Investigation: Typically these will require infiltration into enemy territory to gather information. These could also be surveying an area of battle and reporting any findings.
  • Bounty: Bounty missions are missions where an individual will need to go out and apprehend or kill a target. In most cases, these targets are meant to be brought back alive for a full reward.

Mission Challenges

Arc: A chain of missions thread together to make a familiar narrative.
- All mission group members must meet the character requirements to go on the missions.
- All players must provide a link to the completed prior mission in the arc when starting the continuing mission.
- The final mission of an Arc may provide an additional reward to mark their completion.

Crafting: Missions that reward material from the Crafting System.
- All crafting missions are repeatable by the same character.

Combat: A combative mission that requires the members to defeat a Non-Playable Character (NPC) to be completed.
- Combat missions do not have a Word Count Requirement.
- May be combined with other challenges to create a challenging experience.
- Extremely dangerous and may result in permanent injury or death of a player.
- Able to loot items and may be able to steal Hatsu from NPC.
- Additional Ryo reward of 50%.

Professional: Requires at least one member of the mission group to have a certain Trait.
- Word Count Requirement increased by 20%.
- May get a slotless Trait.
- Additional Ryo reward of 20%.

Ambushes

Not all missions are danger-free and Rival Factions/Hunters may attempt to Ambush a mission group to stop them from completing the task. In some instances, a simple mission could lead to combat against them and this combat could lead to players death.

Ambush Requirements

- The Mission must be C Rank or higher.
- The Mission Type must not be Combat.
- The ambushers must meet the location requirement.
- A maximum of four characters may create an ambush group.
- Missions may be Ambushed up to 48 hours after the completion of the mission.

Attempting The Ambush

- The ambushing group enters into the mission topic. Each player must Copy/Paste their character page onto their first post.
- Once the first member of an ambush group enters the topic, the remaining members have 48 Hours to join it and cannot enter later.
- After 48 Hours, the mission group must respond to the ambush group's threat.
- If the Ambush Group has a member that is 2 Ranks above any of the mission group member, those members can abandon the mission.
- A Faction Guard may join within this period to assist the mission group, if its Faction Exclusive.
- During the first round of posting, neither group may engage in combat.
- Should the mission group realize they are outmatched, they may attempt to flee or bargain with the Ambushing Group, but escape is not guaranteed.
- WC completed by the mission group still counts towards WC Requirement but they cannot complete the Task until the ambush group's threat is dealt with.

During The Ambush

- Each player may still claim WC they completed but gain none of the Rewards and gain no credit.
- The ambushing group can complete the mission, starting where the mission group left off in Word Count Requirement and earning all Rewards.
- The easiest way would be to offer the ambush group Jenny or items to complete the mission peacefully.
- This lead to Player vs Player (PvP) combat with the winning group given a chance to complete the mission, which may lead to death.
- Given the now increased number of players in the same topic, the "48-Hour Rule" should be enacted by both groups should it come to that.

Milestones Guide

Milestones are achievements that award a One-Time Bonus. Milestones bonus rewards can only be claimed once per character. They will be monitored by Hunter RPG staff for abuse, but one completed mission can complete multiple Milestones.

To claim, the player must post it on their character page and get approval from an Hunter RRPG staff member before using the associated rewards. A section of the players mission reward page is dedicated to keeping track of what milestones that player has earned.

The achievable milestones are located in the Milestones Template.
Always check back periodically to see if any new milestones have been added!
